In this workshop that is for intermediate, advanced or professional students I would like to focus on the point that painting, according to Maurice Denis, is essentially an assembly of shapes and colors. I will teach you how to understand that instead of painting an eye, a nose or a mouth, you need to think in terms of geometrical shapes like a rectangle or a triangle and in terms of shadows and light.

The paintings of Debusschere are characterized by the quality of their brushstrokes that are at once dense, precise and direct. Inspired and poetic, his paintings leave us fascinated. The artist seizes his subject with enthusiasm, determination and a clear perception. He places lights accurately and with great assurance creating a mystery that arouses our emotions and captivates us.
