In this course, open to all levels, the landscape will be a starting point for paintings in acrylics and oil. The painting expresses, as in Chinese art, the union of Yin and Yang. This union between opposite concepts, like light and shadow, strength and softness, heat and cold, matter and light, is a metaphor for spiritual awakening. The practice of this art begins with a walk on inspiring places around the mill. We will make quick and synthetic sketches that will be the basis of our work in the studio where they will be transposed on canvas. The canvas will be fed with acrylic impastos and finished with subtle oil glazes. Several successive passes with brush and knife will be needed to complete the painting.
Jean-Claude Bligny, born in France in 1948, received a solid training in drawing and painting : École Normale de Mâcon, Beaux-Arts de Mâcon, Claude Bernard Academy and Beaux-Arts de Paris. He enjoys painting in his studio located in a Hôtel-Dieu of the seventeenth century, away from the noise and bustle near Cluny. A place surrounded by a garden with Japanese accents, which looks like the famous Monet garden in Giverny ... Jean-Claude Bligny was greatly influenced by the master of Impressionism to whom he pays tribute. Galleries: Marciano in Paris, La Baule and Marseille, Songe in Monceau-les-Mines, Raugraf in Nancy, Joël Dupuis in Hardelot, Vent des Cimes in Grenoble, Victor-Hugo in Saintes, Chabanian in Beyrouth. He is particularly inspired by Burgundy and Britany with its special ocean light. His flower bouquets, bursting voluptuously like fireworks are a delight for the eyes. In the marriage of flowers he sees movement that gives the impression of a sort of an fascinating whirlwind.
