This class requires experience in painting and is therefore not suitable for beginners.
The class will be in German with a simultaneous translation into French and English. My concern in this class focuses on the experience that painting is a complex process, a process whose development is driven by ongoing changes, a series of upheavals and turmoils, a steady flow of energy towards a picture that shows only at the end. Please do not bring any work to finish. My concern is that you are getting in a free way and with great intensity into a vivid, authentic painting process, the results of which cannot be anticipated or predicted. Your work will serve later in your own studio as an example.
Peter Casagrande was born in Germany from Italian parents in 1946. His works have an expressionist character. Whether evoking twilight or the crystal clear light of dawn, they always present a vision of cosmic chaos, not without sombre romanticism. Alternatively they may take a more material vein: the earth’s crust in strict monotone dotted with surprisingly refined signs of life. In a physical involvement with his whole being, Casagrande organizes the primordial chaos.
