Michèle TAUPIN : July 13 - 18, 2008

Oil or acrylics : composing the female figure from life

Click on a thumbnail to display a larger picture

Michèle Taupin's work is greatly inspired by Antiquity and Greek mythology. The female figure is omnipresent. Sitting or standing, either in an allegorical posture or in everyday life, her figures appear, dressed or nude, hieratic and tempting, altogether intimate or out of reach, as the symbol of feminine universality. With elegance the artist combines in elaborate compositions, strength, nobility and sensuality.

In this workshop you will improve your drawing skills with life models and learn how to make interesting compositions utilizing creative exercises. We will use charcoal, oil or acrylics throughout the workshop in order to carry out a variety of projects resulting in paintings that will express balance and harmony.

Michèle Taupin studied at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris. She was guest of honor in many shows and has recieved more than sixty rewards including the Gold Medal of the Salon des Artistes Français. Salons : Artistes Français, Automne, Violet. She teaches drawing at the École Polytechnique and exhibits permanently in the following galleries : Mickaël Marciano in Paris and Honfleur, l'Atelier in Gif-sur-Yvette, la Caverne des Arts à Chantilly, des Tuileries in Lyon, Art-Passion in Montpellier, Art Contemporain Conseil à Carnac.
