As a great draftsman and an exceptional colorist, Claude Sauzet takes part in the great adventure of painting achieving works full of poetry and music that enlighten our heart. The idealized female figure is sublimated in symbolic compositions where she appears either in the intimacy of a room, against the full light of a garden or in a complete abstract environment. Whatever the subject, his paintings are rendered in warm colors of yellows and oranges contrasted with pastel tones of emerald and lavender in which the light of the south of France predominates.

A graduate of the School of Arts of Nîmes, Claude Sauzet is a member of Salon d'Automne, Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Salon des Artistes Français and received many prizes and awards. Galleries : Hénot in Enghien, du Château in Auray, L'Ami des Peintres in Paris, Jardin des Arts in Paris and Cabourg, Arts Prestige in Mougins, Graal in Toulouse, Agen, Moissac and Clermont-Ferrand. Tapisserie : Robert Four in Aubusson. Bibliography : Bénézit, Pratique des Arts n°8 p.58-63 July-August 1996, Univers des Arts n°97 p.52-53 March 2005, Arts Actualités Magazine n°145 p.32-33 March-April 2005, Hors-Série n°17 2009 jan-feb, "Claude Sauzet" 1997 (Anduze).

The goal of this workshop is to learn how to compose paintings that are harmonious in shape, color and light. In the morning we will make sketches from a live model. In the afternoon we will use these sketches and combine them in a composition with one, two or three figures. I will show my personal method of preparing the canvas based upon acrylic impasto priming, an essential step to create a luminous painting. I will show how to accentuate the effect of light and color by the technique of glazing. We will use a fast drying alkyd painting medium which enables the canvas to dry quickly. So, whatever your level, you can be sure to make at least 2 beautiful finished paintings.
